Event Description

Poor balance causes falls and is a major contributor to the loss of independence, especially as we age.  Evidence indicates that physical activity targeting the systems involved in balance control (sensory, muscular, cognitive) can improve balance, reduce falls and fractures and lead to additional health benefits. This presentation will discuss the factors that contribute to poor balance and provide activities designed specifically to improve balance at any age.
