Campus Recreation celebrates health, activity, competition & inclusivity on National Recreational Sports & Fitness Day. It's a day to not only commemorate the founding of NIRSA, but a day for us to acknowledge the various types of recreation that support health & wellness across our campus - from lifting weights, hiking, painting, dancing & so much more!
Share how you Rec on social media and tag us @PUCampusRec!
Celebrate with us in the following ways:
- Thursday, 2/22: Stop by our table at Frist Campus Center from 12pm - 3pm during late meal to receive some SWAG including throwback T-Shirts.
- Monday, 2/19 - Thursday, 2/22: If you're an undergraduate student, participate in our Res College Step Challenge.
- Thursday, 2/22 (7pm - 9:30pm): Come watch Cardboard Canoe Race in the Rec Pool. Races begin around 8:30pm.
Every year, on the day commemorating NIRSA’s founding — February 22, 1950 — we like to gather together with schools, companies, and associations across North America to celebrate campus recreation.
On this day we remember the vision set in motion by Dr. William Wasson and his esteemed colleagues at the first NIRSA Conference: To celebrate health, activity, competition, and inclusivity.
Will you join us in celebrating recreational sports and fitness?
