Princeton University Gym Membership Update

Wednesday, May 19, 2021

It has been a long year+ since Dillon Gym had to close its doors due to the pandemic.  During that time the Campus Recreation staff made great efforts to clean the gym and equipment regularly and put in place protocols to make Dillon Gym a safe environment.  As a result, in September we were permitted to allow some Princeton students who were in the University’s COVID-19 testing protocol to resume use of the gym.  In the Spring, that expanded to all Princeton students who were in the testing protocol.  There were certainly some difficulties along the way, however, we were consistently able to make adjustments that improved the environment and our processes.

We are extremely happy to announce that, as of July 1st, Princeton University faculty, staff, and affiliates who are in the University’s testing protocol will be eligible to purchase memberships to Dillon Gym again!  While we regret that we cannot reopen fully to all member statuses yet, this is a very big step in the University’s reopening plan.  If you are NOT a Princeton University faculty, staff, or affiliate member who is in the University’s COVID-19 testing protocol, then please monitor the Campus Recreation website for updates regarding future stages of the University-approved reopening process.

If you are a Princeton University faculty, staff, or affiliate member AND are in the University’s COVID-19 testing protocol, then beginning on July 1st you will be able to log in and purchase your Dillon Gym membership online (there will still not be any in-person sales at Dillon Gym yet).  Please refer to the Campus Recreation website to find out the new policies and procedures that are in place in Dillon Gym. Currently, you will find that a lot of equipment has been moved to different places; masks and social distancing will be enforced; and many other changes from what you were probably used to in the past.

If you have any questions, please refer first to the Campus Recreation website – many answers and FAQs can be found there.  If you cannot find the answer there, then feel free to e-mail rec@princeton.edu for additional assistance.

Welcome back – we’re looking forward to seeing many more faces in Dillon Gym again!

Thank you,
Campus Recreation
